My Name is Drew Sheneman

I am 23. Normally, when people write about themselves, the descriptions consist of what hobbies they like, sports they are interested in, movies, etc. However, to be honest, ever since God spoke life into my Spirit, anything else that could possibly occupy my mind has had the volume turned way down.

Romans 8:29
For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

This is me, and it is also what I wish to become. Just as it is a reality that Christ lives in me (Romans 8:10), there is also a sense in one could survive all the lifetimes on earth combined, and would not even begin to attain the perfection that is, His Son.

Why, you ask? I live this way because the Bible does not promote a religion, but a reality. The reality is that there is a God, and universe revolves around Him, not me, and not you. For as much care that He put in creating the largest star in the deepest regions of the farthest galaxy, He also put as much care in designing you, intricately and beautifully.

Psalm 139:12-17
Even the darkness is not dark to You,
And the night is as bright as the day
Darkness and light are alike to You.
For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother's womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

This is what it is supposed to mean, when they say "God loves you." It has become some shallow thing that does not even make people stop and think anymore. But it means that God created you, down to every last cell, in love. He saw each day of your life, and even if it was abundantly clear that you would reject Him each of those days, He made you with love.

And as God is the Creator and Originator of all things, everything last particle of matter truly belongs to Him (Deuteronomy 10:14). That means that everything you have, your food, your car, your house, your kids, in all actually they belong to God. Why did He give them to you? He loves you more than you can imagine. There is a sense in which He cries out to each one of us, each time He blesses us and asks, "When will you notice Me? When will see that these things come from me?" Our possessions, wonderfully as some of them are, our family, spouses, and children, are all meant to turn our attention and delight to the One who gave them. Do you not see this is true?

Let's say you just bought a new car. In six months, will it provide the same joy and excitement that it does now? And why? It is because inanimate objects are simply that. Why give them your adoration if that is not the natural, intended way? See, with all our talk of evolution and betterment of the human race and yet we cannot even grasp these things.

If you do grasp it, it will give life to your bones. It will strengthen you. Not only that God is able to fix the things inside of you that are broken. Areas where you are hurt, lonely, depressed, the emptiness you feel and do not talk about. There is a sense in which, until you turn to God, all you are capable of is hurt. Hurting yourself, wearing yourself down, hurting others. That is why friends, we must be made new.

Obviously I could continue typing for ages, and never really even begin to exude the greatness of God. However, this a bit about who I am. I would love to talk to you more, about anything. Feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Drew
